ARTHRITIS THERAPY - REDUCE HAND PAIN & INCREASE STRENGTH WITH EXERCISE! |
|
Your body has 147 different joints that are in motion every day of your life and the favorite targets of osteoarthritis are your hands, hips, knees, feet and spine.
It is not unusual for doctors to say things like - take it easy on that joint. In other words, they are really saying they don't want you to exercise the affected area because they really do not know what else to tell you. Which of course is too bad for the millions of individuals suffering with osteoarthritis!
Their intentions may be good but it is also not good advice. Try to keep painful joint areas in motion, even in a limited manner is very important, as exercise is good for joints affected by osteoarthritis. Even if you do not think you can exercise, you can!
Even the lightest exercise can go along way to maintaining joint mobility and health. A good exercise routine is key to beating osteoarthritis and its painful symptoms. Correcting the muscle imbalance that is often causing wear and tear on a specific portion / side of a joint can be corrected with the appropriate stretches and exercises, thus helping to eliminate pain and inflammation of the affected joint.
